Building a Swimming Pool

Prior to beginning we will developed different types of plans; site, layout, plumbing and electrical, mechanical, and a section view. This is the most import phase of any project. And at completion an as-built plan will be an important part of your owners manual.

To give you an idea of what you can expect to happen in your backyard during the installation of your new pool or spa, we have broken down the process into 16 steps.

We welcome you to ask your Aquatech Pools representative about any of the steps involved or other questions you may have.

Layout swimming pool process#1 – The Site – Prior to excavation, we will stake out your new pool or spa. The layout is based on your approved design.

                                                                                                   swimming pool Excavation

#2 – Excavation – Roll in the heavy-duty equipment, it’s time to dig a big hole! In most cases, it will take about one working day to complete the excavation of your pool and remove the soil from your yard.

Pool Plumbing#3 – Plumbing - Our plumbers will install the plumbing as per plan.

Steel or rebar process     swimming pool builder                       #4 – Steel Placement – Steel-reinforcing rods are placed inside the excavation, along the bottom, up the sides, into the bond beam, and around the skimmers. Firmly wired together, these rods add to the strength and long life of your pool shell.

Electrical bonding on pool#5 - Inspections – At varying stages of construction, detailed inspections are performed by the project manager. In addition to these inspections, local building authorities will also require inspections.

Gunite process

#6 – Pool Shell – A concrete mixture is pneumatically applied under great pressure to bond tightly around the steel reinforcing rods. This results in a reinforced steel and concrete pool of superior strength.

#7 – Curing – 7 Days.

swimming pool coping#8 – Coping – Our craftsman install the coping - or the "lip" of your pool - around the pool's perimeter. Some options are safety-grip brick, stone or cast in place  concrete.

Pool water-line tile#9 – Tile - The tile is installed along what will be the waterline of the interior of the pool. Tiles are available in a wide variety of colors and designs.  Granite may also be used.

pool patio#12 – Decking – The decking that surrounds your pool can be concrete, brick, stone, grass or many other materials. This is the final stage before the pool shell finish is applied and it’s ready to be filled.
